About Petricor
Who we are
The scent of hope
Petricor Biocomplex was founded with the mission to transform Paraguay’s timber industry, combining cutting-edge technology with a sustainable approach. From Caazapá, we drive the country’s growth and project our impact worldwide, adding value to wood through efficient, responsible processes with a forward-looking vision.
“The petricor is the distinctive scent released by the earth when it comes into contact with rain after a period of drought. In the Paraguayan countryside, it has always represented hope: it marks the beginning of a new planting cycle and the promise of growth. That same essence is what we seek to convey at Petricor: the beginning of something that leaves a mark and transforms.”

Caazapá: Strategic and Growing
Located in the heart of the eastern region of Paraguay, Caazapá is a key area for the development of forestry and industry of the country. With more than 40,000 hectares of reforestation in constant growth, the region has a huge potential to add value to the wood and strengthen the local economy.
Its strategic location allows for an efficient connection with the main logistics points of the country and the region. Only an hour and a half from Encarnación, and its port on the Paraná river, two hours from Puerto Villeta in the Paraguay river and two and a half hours from Ciudad del Este, makes it easier to export to international markets, consolidating its role in the industry.
However, according to the human development index, Caazapá remains one of the departments with the greatest socio-economic challenges. In Petricor, we are going to change this reality, generating formal and sustainable employment in both plantations and the industrial phase, contributing to the growth and well-being of the local community.
